Simple Click Counter & Tally Counter
Welcome to the Online Counter – A Complete User Guide
Welcome to our powerful and convenient online counter! This completely free counter is designed to provide you with a simple and efficient way to count anything you need. Whether you’re tracking event attendees, counting your workout reps, or taking inventory, this tool is here to help. This guide will walk you through all the features of our click counter.
1. The Main Interface & Basic Operations
When you open the webpage, you’ll see a clean interface dominated by a large number counter.
- To Add to the Count: Simply click the large + button. This is the main function and is designed to be easy to click.
- To Subtract from the Count: Click the slightly smaller – button.
- To Manually Set a Value: If you need to start from a specific number, just click on the number itself in the center of the screen. It will turn into an input box where you can type any whole number (like 100 or -50) and confirm.
2. Made a Mistake? Use the “Undo” Feature
Everyone makes mistakes. That’s why this counter online tool includes a powerful undo feature.
- How to Use: Click the “Undo” button (usually an anti-clockwise arrow icon ↩️).
- What it Does: This action will revert the last change you made to the number.
- For Example:
- You clicked + and the count went from 10 to 11.
- Clicking “Undo” will immediately change the count back to 10.
- If you accidentally reset the counter, you can also click “Undo” to restore the value you had before resetting.
- Important Notes:
- The undo feature only works for value changes. It cannot undo changes to settings, like renaming a counter or changing its goal value.
- To ensure smooth performance, the system keeps a history of your last 100 actions.
3. Resetting Your Counter
When you need to start over from zero, use the reset function.
- How to Use: Click the “Reset” button (usually a circular arrow icon 🔄).
- Safety Confirmation: To prevent accidental data loss, a confirmation box will pop up asking, “Are you sure you want to reset the count to zero?”. The count will only be reset after you confirm.
4. Managing Multiple Counters
The best feature of this tally counter is the ability to manage multiple, independent counters at the same time. This is perfect for tracking several things at once.
- Creating a New Counter
- Click the “List” icon (often looks like a menu ☰) to go to the counter management page.
- Click the “+ Add New Counter” button.
- In the pop-up window, give your new counter a descriptive name and, optionally, set a starting value.
- For Example:
- Name: Website Visitors Today
- Initial Value: 0
- Click “Create”, and your new counter is ready.
- Switching Between Counters
- On the list page, you will see all your counters, sorted alphabetically by name.
- Simply click on the name of the counter you wish to use, and the main screen will switch to it instantly.
- Deleting a Counter
- On the list page, find the counter you want to remove and click the delete icon next to it (usually a trash can 🗑️).
- Again, a confirmation box will appear (e.g., “Are you sure you want to permanently delete ‘Website Visitors Today’?”) to prevent accidental deletion.
5. Customizing Each Counter
You can apply unique settings to every single counter.
- How to Access Settings: Make sure you are on the main screen for the counter you want to configure, then click the “Settings” button (usually a gear icon ⚙️).
- Available Settings:
- Rename: You can change the name of the current counter at any time.
- Step Value: By default, each click of + or – changes the count by 1. You can change this step value.
- For Example: If you are counting items that come in boxes of 12, you can set the step value to 12. Now, every click of + will add 12 to your total, making your work much faster.
- Set a Goal: You can set a target number. When your count reaches or exceeds this goal, the tool will notify you.
- For Example: You have a fitness goal to do 50 push-ups. Set the goal value to 50. When your online click counter hits 50, a “Goal Reached” message will appear on the screen. This feature also works with negative numbers.
- Tip: If you change the goal value, the system will immediately check if the new goal has already been met by the current count.
- Sound Feedback: You can turn the “click” sound on or off to simulate the feel of a real mechanical tally counter.
We hope this guide helps you get the most out of our online counter. Happy counting!
